Elia Locardi

Elia Locardi

The third artist/photographer that I looked at was Elia Locardi. I found Elia's work on Pinterest when saving travel photographs into a Pinterest board. I instantly took a liking to his work, as I really liked the way he edited his photographs so that they had a magical twist to them. By this I mean, his photographs are edited so that everything looks x10 more enhanced, allowing all the colours to contrast together, making them stand out more against each other. The magical twist is then created because in person it will never look quite as beautiful as it does in his photographs.

Elia Locardi is an American professional photographer, who mainly specializes in travel photography, aerial photography and landscape photography. He has occasional done videography on the side too. He has won two awards, which one is for being one of the best workshop photographers in the world.

The photograph shown at the top of the page, is one of my favourites from Elia. The reason behind this is because, I like the way he has shown the environmental problems that are going on in the world. His photograph might look absolutely beautiful, but if you were to look more into it, it shows all the ice melting, which is a constant ongoing problem that has been occurring for a few years now. Not only can this be seen in the waters, but on the mountains in the background, you can see the dry land starting to come through.
However, all of his photographs are definitely him showing "the world in bold", and making viewers instantly want to visit the country the photographs are snapped in (I can certainly agree). By him having this effect on people, it inspires me to do completely the same. Therefore, one of my final goals, is to make sure that I edit my photographs the way he does, because personally I think this makes people more interested.

Again Elia is completely different in comparison to Justin and Timothy. The reason behind this is because whilst Elia captures mainly landscapes producing them to very vibrant and bold, Justin mainly captures countries different activities, whereas Timothy is more cultural.
However, all three travel photographers never produce their work in black and white, instead they produce them in colour. The colour in every photograph taken by all three photographers are enhanced so that the photograph stands out and becomes eye catching.
